The thought honestly crossed my mind. It's obviously not Gagne or Penner (ok maybe it is Penner), but Richards has been nothing short of irrelevant. The guy is what, 27? His better years are not behind him.

Yep. 7 games in and he's done what? A fight? Everyone else is just having a bad (few) games, Richards has been completely irrelevant since day 1. Well said Kennywu.
Kopitar is hurt, and has still contributed more offensively than Mike and his -5. Why is Kopitar even being mentioned? This would seem to be a Richards thread. Kopitar has been called out enough times and had enough threads dedicated to criticizing him. There can't be a thread pointing out Mike Richards and his less than satisfactory play?
Won the Cup, now blow it up! Use the capital of the cup win to keep sales up, trade all the high profile players for picks and prospects and rebuild again. As a Kings fan, that's really my comfort zone anyway. Let's get back to the real excitement, the draft!
richards, as much as i love the guy, deserves to be called out. but everybody on this team should be criticized for their crappy play so far.
Exactly. The guy is a former captain. He's supposed to be the kind of player who puts his team on his back when they're ****ting the bed. This kind of play wouldn't be acceptable if Parise, Nash, or the other Richards ended up here, so why does Mike Richards get a pass?
I don't think he does, but neither should kopi nor brown.
Based on all the evidence this game was not the game to base any decisive impressions of any player on.
We'll see what sutter comes up with but benching a center is something he can afford to do with this group considering their depth.
Toffoli, Andreoff, and Vey, pack your bags, you're the new first line!
