Thread: Bernier!

Anyone else happy to see him getting into the rotation more? I hope they keep him playing more games...like a 3-1 or 4-1 rotation with Quick.

He will start getting a bunch of starts when we start hitting these 3-in-4 stretches.

he's going to get us a good return

3 of the 7 Kings goalies from the 07-08 season in the same building tonight, none of which played more than 4 games that season. Who'd have thunk it?

I hope Deano doesn't deal him for a veteran on his downside or picks. I want a young superstar for him or I hope the Kings hold onto him. If I'm the GM I hold onto both this year (you never know when Quick's back may tighten up on him in a compacted season) and try to deal Quick in the offseason. Quick has one surgery under his belt and relies too much on his athletic ability, whereas Bernier has flawless mechanics and just swallows pucks up with very few rebounds. I fear Quick may only have another 7 -10 years in him. I think Bernier can play for 10-15 years because of his mechanics and style of play.

Remember, Sutter likes to ride one horse most of the time. So while it's great that JB is playing well, don't expect him to play all that much.

And if he gets traded, I suspect Deano will go for picks. The team is short this year of picks, and I think he'll want to stock up. But i don't think he'll be able to get a #1.

As many of you know on here I have and will always be a Bernie fan. I think he will be a star goalie in this league. However, it will not be with the Kings. Quick proved me wrong last season, and I am so happy for it. Quick brought this franchise and us fans our first cup. And he will be the one to bring us more. Enjoy Bernie while he is a King, and hope he plays great until Deano trades him. Cant have two elite goalies! Great win tonight, lets keep the train rollin!!!!
