Thread: Bernier Starter For Tonight

I think this is the smart move....we have a really tough 2 weeks coming up. 7 games in 13 nights with back to backs Tues and Wed.

Nope, not surprising at all, Sutter said that the starter is going to be performance based from here on out. Bernier's getting us wins keep him in net.

How about Bernier with a win and strong performance tonight and on Sunday?
It would be kind of nice to have a goalie controversy if you ask me.

There is no real "controversy" here, and it isn't like beating the Blues and Jackets would "prove" anything. But Quick has always played better when competition heats up; his worst time as a King, IIRC, came when Ersberg was backing him up and he had zero chance of losing his job.

Indeed. Plenty of opportunities for both guys to get in.

First time Bernier will play back to back games in almost 3 years.

What's that? The Kings are starting their backup goalie against the team with the least amount of points in the NHL and a history of being terrible?

Most people on here know Im a Bernie fan, and I wish he would get his chance...but im sure this is DS's way of telling Quick last year is in the past, and your play needs to be better to be an ELITE goalie. Lets go Kings and hope this wakes up JQuick!

Just saw on NHL.com that Crawford is out for the Hawks tonight....listed as day to day. Hate to see anyone injured, but could be a good omen for Sunday.
