Ranford has done a great job. Quick is the only goalie in Kings history with a Stanley cup as a King and our only Conn Smythe winner. Quick is NOT a technically sound goalie. He is an athletic freak and flexible like gumby and a damn fine goalie. He's not without his weaknesses. He can't play the puck worth **** and can over commit on angles sometimes. He's good in shootouts.
Both Quick and Scrivens IMO are bad at playing the puck. Both need work on that, both scare me when they come out to play the puck, though Scrivens less that Quick.
Am I thankful we have Quick? Yes. Am I thankful we won a cup? Oh, Hell Yes. Do I think Quick is a "sound" technical goalie? Um, not so much. Is Quick one of the most athletic goalies in the league? Oh, Hell yes without a doubt.

Outside of his Conn Smythe he was a pretty mediocre goalie. Top 10 in GAA once in his career. Top 10 in Save Percentage once in his career. Plenty of top 5 finishes in most goals allowed and loses, which partly should be explained by the fact that he played many games on bad teams (outside of Oilers 90/91 and 91/92).
He was lucky enough to play on the end of a dynasty, and unlucky enough to play on some bad teams starting early 90's.
Hardly a hall of famer but seems to be doing a great job in LA which is all that matters right now.
