Are cameras allowed inside STAPLES Center?
Yes! Non-professional, non-flash, still photography is permitted at most events (disposable, digital, or 35mm cameras with no interchangeable or telephoto lens). Video and audio recording is prohibited. Please note that some shows will have a different camera policy. Please see the specific event page or contact contact Guest Services for further information.
So if video and audio recording devices are prohibited, does that mean that you can't take a flip cam or other portable video devices or does this apply to camcorders?

Looks like they may have changed the policy from prior years. In the past, they would let you bring in a DSLR if the lens was not too long. They would sometimes use their ID badge to measure the length of the lens. Now it seems they are not allowing DSLRs at all? Lets see what happens Saturday and share our experiences here or over in the DSLR thread.
That has been the policy for years if not since the day it opened.

They do not mind as long as you are in your seat, or its in between periods or during warmups. I have a 110-300, but weak aperture, no issues with the Staples redcoats.

Thanks for all your responses guys. I myself have a 55-250mm and a 18-55mm lenses. Since I will be seating from the concourse area I will be bringing the 55-250mm. Or I just might bring both and hope that they let me in.

What I have done in the past is attach the 18-55 and bring the 55-200 in a carrier in my backpack. Then I switch when I'm in. The only time someone said something was when I was trying to take some pics of the banners and an usher said to keep it pointed at the ice and not the stands.
