Default Bringing a camera to Staples.

I recently bought a camera (Cannon T3i) and wanted to know the rules are on bringing this to Staples Center.

Is this type of camera allowed to brought inside eventhough you are affilited with any press?

Are there any limitations on the lenses?

    Thanks in advance.

I've been stopped a couple times at security and told that any DSLR is not allowed into Staples Center. There are other times when I'll notice some fans with a DSLR and a 70-200 L lens on it... That lens is a good 10 inches long...

Here's the official Staples Center policy. Not sure if it applies to Kings games but it's a start:

Are cameras allowed inside STAPLES Center?
Yes! Non-professional, non-flash, still photography is permitted at most events (disposable, digital, or 35mm cameras with no interchangeable or telephoto lens). Video and audio recording is prohibited. Please note that some shows will have a different camera policy. Please see the specific event page or contact contact Guest Services for further information.

I just asked about this too in the DSLR thread the other day.

They hassled me about my 18-105mm during the open practice (they finally gave in since it wasn't a real game).

Depends on who is checking bags. I carry a 70MM fixed, and sometimes my 100mm fixed, sometimes multiple lens in my bag. I was told once, "hey man, cant bring that in here." I said, "Ok, I'll take it to my car." Proceeded to the other entrance, and walked right in. Have carried my camera with me to more games that not, and to every playoff game. As long as it is not a large aperture and longer than about 6", they really dont care. And do not even try a mono or tripod.

Looks like they may have changed the policy from prior years. In the past, they would let you bring in a DSLR if the lens was not too long. They would sometimes use their ID badge to measure the length of the lens. Now it seems they are not allowing DSLRs at all? Lets see what happens Saturday and share our experiences here or over in the DSLR thread.

Took a DSLR with a 18-200 lens in for the scrimmage. No problem.

Same here. I took my nikon d5100 with a 24-135 lens to the scrimmage and I had no problem

You guys all took your cameras into the scrimmage and didn't share your pics? Shame on you!
