also CI becomes useless in the playoffs after the 1st round as all the games go to NBCsports, whereas before i used to be able to see almost all the games to the conference finals on CI. CI was worth it to me just to get Full HNIC with pre / post shows on saturdays, but now NHL network has been airing it. But last season they only ran one of the two games and no post show.

Default Broadcast of Kings home opener on East Coast.

Didn't CI use to run the NBC feed that wasn't broadcast in your area ?
Is that not in play anymore ?

Center Ice is a regular season only package now. NBC owns all rights to the out of market feeds in the playoffs. If you don't live in the FSW market it's blacked out as i experienced last season here in Oregon. Sorry to all east coast Kings fans, hope you all find a way to view the game!

This is complete and utter B.S.
Does the Kings organ-eye-zation read this board?
    Are you kidding?

THIS is what we get for winning the cup? A regional blackout?
DirecTV 393 here is NBC-west feed and it is BLACKED OUT for the game. Hello -- everyone in DC hates the Flyers and Pens anyway.
Why should NBC care which set of its commercials we watch? What advantage do they get by denying us the game we want to watch on their network?

I saw a tweet that NBC Sports online will stream the out of market game, but I was going to rely on DVR as there's a family event conflict. Can't DVR the computer on a stream that probably won't work.

It's already going to be a lousy year for out of market Kings fans. No east coast games, and the lateness of the schedule release makes travel planning for games difficult for those of us who already have to book a lot of travel.

And now, blacking out, for no earthly reason, the Kings first game, after this brutal lockout and with all the other stuff....
    BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

According to TonySCV, both games will be streamed on NBCsports.com.

Give that a shot tomorrow if you're out of market.

The bastards at the NHL ought to give every fan in the country the ability to watch EVERY game, as partial payment for dealing with the lockout nonsense. Shouldn't matter what time zone you're in. Have a feed available for every game.

Except the NHL doesn't actually care about fans.
