    Default Canadian Needs Help From You SoCal folks (re: Beer League Baseball)

    Hi guys
    Sorry if this is in the wrong place, pretty sure it is. As some of you know, I am a Kings fan in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I am working with a production company in Montreal to create a reality series that deals with beer league baseball teams. We are looking to shoot a promo with a former MLB star and a beer league team.

    My definition of beer league would be guys playing "pick up", guys (or gals) who are not in the best shape etc.

    Do any of you know of a league or team I could contact, maybe one of you is on one of these teams? Is baseball/softball played year-round in your area?

    We may be doing hockey at some point, but for now baseball/softball is what we need for the promo/sizzle. Thanks for your time

    I have played in many aduly leagues. Not currently though, I just teach lessons. Let me know if you need any help.

    By far the most entertaining team would have to be the canejo angels in the pacific coast baseball league (pcbl). My gf's 50 year old dad plays for them and let me tell u its mostly over the hill guys that consistently beat teams of 20-30 year old guys. I can get the manager's info if you would like.

    I think every adult baseball league has a team like the Conejo Angels in it, which is kind of funny. I play in a league as well, and I think our oldest guy is the manager, who is 48 years old, and walks about 80% of his at-bats, because the pitchers know if they put the ball anywhere near the plate, he is going to hit it. I think our current team has the oldest average age in the league, but we have some youngsters who pitch for us. Our middle infielders probably weighed about 500 lbs combined, but were no taller than 5'9". At times, we look more like a beer-league softball team than a baseball team. I can probably connect you with a few different teams too, if needed.
