Thread: The Cup @ The Grove 10/11/12

I took advantage of the day off from work and went up to the Grove to see the Stanley Cup. I also had not been to the Grove in a while and wanted to go see that as well. I got there about 10:30 and the first thing I see is the TV entertainment show Extra was tapeing there. The very first person I see is Maria Menounos from the Extra TV show. In person she was drop dead gorgeous. WOW so pretty. After seeing her I was really conflicted stay near the TV show taping or go see the Cup. Well I finally made it over to the line for the cup at about 10:45 and the line was not very long at all when I got in-line. They had the cup on a bridge in the middle part of the Grove and they had the line a good distance away from where the cup was. They took groups of 10 or 20 at a time and walked them over to the area where the Cup was. Bailey was there and so were a few members of the Ice Crew. At 11:00 the line started to move however the line moved very slowly. We eventually got to the area where the cup was at about 12:15. They had one of the Ice Crew members taking people's cameras and taking their picture with the Cup. There was also a staff member of the Grove there taking pictures of everyone with the Cup that came through the line and we were told to check The Grove's Facebook page later in the day and all the pictures would be posted there. So when it was my turn I gave one of the Ice Crew Girls my camera and she took a couple pictures they came out ok but I just wish I would have smiled. :-/ I took a few more pictures of the cup from a little further away.

I then went back to the area where Extra was taping and found out Luc Robitaille was going to tape a segment with Mario Lopez for the show. Indeed he did, they set up a table and had the Cup put on the table and Mario did a short interview with Luc. BTW we were told the segment with Luc will be on Extra on Monday.

When I got home from work yesterday a Facebook Friend messaged me that my picture with the Cup was on The Grove’s FB page and that picture is now my avatar here on the LGK message board and I was actually smiling in the picture as opposed to the pictures that were taken with my camera. There are also about 150 or more pictures on the Grove's FB page of the people who came through the line. So a fun day at The Grove up in LA and it was great to a get picture taken with Stanley Cup

I just wanted to say thanks for starting the above thread about this event a couple weeks ago this or I would never have known about it.

Just wondering did anyone make it out to the Cup event at the Americana @ Brand?

I went to the Grove and the Americana.

Did the Extra taping with Luc as well. The Stanley Cup was 3 inches away from my face for a good 15 minutes.

Ha, I made it to the page too. I am the one taking the picture of the engraved names on my phone with my 3 year old next to me. Figures, the only one whose ass is in front.
