    a)small sample size
b)even if he had a whole regular season like this, until there's a Stanley Cup winning Conn Smythe performance they are not in the same league (Turco and others had great regular seasons too)
c)there is no way of predicting anything and Bernier could be better... maybe Quick turns out to be Belfour to Bernier's Hasek /shudder

Quick is clearly the better goalie now, but over the long haul I bet that Bernier's technique holds up better than Quick's athleticism. But we are talking at least a few years down the road.

    Just for the Kopitarians:

    On Kopitar “shooting with success”:
I’ve never really had a problem with it…I think every time you’ve asked me, I’ve said he’s been our best player, and I think he is that again. I know, we’re in Los Angeles. Everything’s based on stars and what they do…I thought it was about winning. That’s what it’s about. Kopitar night in and night out gives you a chance to win.

Coach still not a big Muzzin fan:

    On the Muzzin-Doughty pairing:
If I got to play with Drew Doughty, I’d be trying to play there, too…He’s going to have to play a hell of a lot better than he’s playing if he wants to continue to play with Drew Doughty. Drew Doughty’s a special, special player, and you have to raise your level to play with him.

I think it will be interesting to see how Bernier deals with adversity and more importantly how he fares in Toronto playoffs.

I am much looking forward to see if he has the inner stuff to take himself to another level. We've seen a VERY high level of stanley cup clutch goaltending the last two springs. Quick is the best money goaltender in the league as far as I'm concerned. I am curious if Bernier can be the same for Toronto.

I think the Muzzin quote is Daryl trying to motivate Muzzin. Muzzin played well last night.

I thought so too, I was surprised to see him say that - twice!

You know you're in trouble when Doughty is the stay at home defenseman of the pair..

Yeah, Drew was the guy that through a pass through the middle of the slot to absolutely no one in the 1st period last night.

On Quick going back to LA....

"We don’t have a rocket that can get him right back to L.A. You know what? You’ve got to leave Buffalo, and you’ve got to get somewhere else to get back to L.A, so it’s not quite as easy as you think. There’s no magic."

On where he has seen growth from Tanner Pearson, on or off the ice:
I just saw him last night. He didn’t grow. I’ve seen him literally for 20 minutes in November, so growth? I don’t know. [Reporter Had you see any change in him since his game in the playoffs last year?] No. He earned his way into the lineup in the playoffs, and he earned his way into the lineup tonight.
