I don't look down on upon those with replica sweaters, but I do look down upon those who improperly use the words 'there', 'their', and 'they're'.

I usually look up at you guys, from the PR seats. :)
First time I ever heard of anyone looking down on someone for wearing replica jerseys. That's like saying if you don't shop at the Gap (or whatever is hip these days), you should be ashamed of yourself.
Jerseys are expensive in general, no doubt about that. Even replica ones. You're kidding yourself if you think they're worth that much. I'm just glad hockey replica jerseys still look like the authentic ones minus the fight strap. Use the NBA for example. If you're not buying an authentic jersey... it looks downright ugly. The material, font, and style looks completely different.
I completely agree with VegasHockey. If I were to "look down" on somebody, it would be people who wear the Chinese bootleg jerseys. The purple is blue and the font is nowhere close to the others. I always ask myself, "Why the hell would they buy that? Is price really that much of a factor that they want to wear a jersey like that?"
just for clarification, where do the ccm replica's fit in on the sliding scale of authentic to crap?
As far as you know, people do not look down on you because of your replica sweater.
I've been noticing the replicas are more comfortable to wear.
Bogey, there you go again being a spelling buster.
a friend of mine got me one of those chinese knockoffs for xmas, but i was lucky that she didn't actually give it to me until playoffs started so my excuse for not wearing it was my other jersey was good luck. she has no idea that it's a knockoff tho, i haven't had the heart to tell her
I wouldn't worry about it. It's really just a food chain thing. There's a another group of people who look down on people who wear jerseys sporting a player's names who is half their age and so on.
As long as it is a legit replica I would say you're fine. I wouldn't shell out the $300+ it costs to get an authentic (unless it is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity). I just recently ordered a lettered (Kopitar) Reebok Premier jersey from icejerseys.com and I have to say, they do a damn good job if you're looking at getting a high quality replica. The stitching on it is the same as what you'd find on an authentic jersey. I highly recommend them if you're looking to purchase a custom jersey.
