Thread: Dustin Brown to Vityaz Chekhov?

I don't like the move because knowing Brown hits a lot, plays physical, and that he might get hurt. But I understand money is a need these days.

Money maybe, or just wants to play and stay sharp.

Since there is not going to be hockey played in the NHL for at least another 11 months go ahead and make some money elsewhere. If he does not want to play here, he might as well play somewhere to bring in a little money for his family. He did get his escrow check today so that should help.

sure beats the $600 a week he'd get in the ECHL

GM Zamnov says negotiations not progressing as expected & Brown now unlikely to join Vityaz Chekhov. Zhamnov stressed Brown wasn't requesting a lot of money and that the main obstacle would be his separation from wife & 3 kids.

good for him, not sure being away for an extended period of time will be good for his family. He obviously feels playing overseas will better his game than playing in the NHL. I hope it works.

Swiss league is the most comfortable European option: a wealthy, tiny country (hardly any travel required), none too challenging opponents... Zhamnov did cite "lack of comfort" as one of the reasons why the Vityaz Chekhov deal may have flopped.

Is Vityaz Checkhov related to Pavel Chekhov?
