i dont understand how anyone can dislike the present jerseys. it uses the best colors which is black white and grey. true the logo (homeplate) is a bit simple and boring but it is this unique simple design that makes it awesome. if the chevron logo replaced it would be really nice. overall the jersey is a great design and the players look amazing both on home ice and away. i would say they look nice away with the white complimenting the black hockey pants they wear. CURRENT JERSEYS MUST STAY!!! IF ANYTHING THEY CAN UPGRADE THE HOMEPLATE TO THE CHEVRON LOGO IN A COUPLE YEARS. LETS KEEP THE KINGS AT BLACK WHITE N GREY. THOSE ARE THE WINNING COLORS. WE DID WELL IN 93 WITH IT AND WON THE CUP ONCE WE BROUGHT THOSE COLORS BACK.

Well, of course, those are your opinions, which aren't shared by everybody on this site. At least 2 other versions of the uni had the same white / black contrast of which you speak, but they had logos and other emblems which were apparently the work of adult graphic artists rather than one created by Mrs. Williams' 3rd grade class. And the piping down the sleeves? What's next, doilies on the shoulders?

Yeah. Those Canadiens and Red Wings teams really needed black to win Cups.

And it's Chevy logo.

One guy, subjectively ranking 122 logos. And not a single graphic design instinct was professed.

And he spoke in praise of the Ducks and Sharks total vomit/**** the bed logos. Teal is awesome. Bronze and orange look great.

I've spoken elsewhere about totally loving the current uniform. I'm still baffled by the hate.

That's about right. The home plate logo and vertical striping suck. I really wish they'd just go back to a purple/gold format like the throwbacks.

But #1 sports uni overall for me is the Blackhawks, especially the red jersey. Logo is classic and colorful, nice use of striping, great color combo. Can't be beat IMO.

Let me ask you this, how many cars do you see in purple? How many years has purple been the most popular car color? 2011 it was white and 2010 it was black. And when it is neither black nor white, it is silver. Like it or not, America is still pretty conservative!

Which brings us to the Lakers. First off, when you have won as much and as big as the Lakers have, you can afford to pretty much wear what you want! So, it has nothing to do with class per say...

With that said, you are comparing apples to oranges. The NBA is a whole different animal, much more liberal and tolerant. The NBA is about bling and prestige. It’s flashy, flamboyant and superficial, perfect for Hollywood. How many NBA players sport tattoos and piercings? Are brash and vociferous? On the other hand, the NHL has a different culture entirely. Most NHLers do not seek the spotlight and interviews, are soft spoken and low key off the ice. (Except for when they get drunk like Quick, but still tame by NBA standards...)

Anyways, in the end, it is a matter of taste. To me, the purple and gold was abominable. The Kings never won anything in them and it stands for mediocrity at best. Gretzky changed everything about hockey in LA. The anticipation, excitement, the BUZZ… it was all there! Is that the reason that we maybe went back to those colors? Transcending colors, we were desperately seeking to finally be relevant again!

When the Kings finally made a splash in the summer of 2011 and acquired Gagne and Richards, yea it was not as big as Gretzky coming, but man it got people excited again and talking about the Kings.

Now we won the CUP!

I love this logo, and I always will. Keep it the way it is.

i wasnt calling it "chevron" as in gas station chevron. and its not Chevy as in the car either smart ass. That shape itself is known as a chevron (noun) . Therefore i called it the chevron logo. Which is much more accurate than you correcting me saying "Chevy"
