    the team might not be firing on all cylinders right now but i'm hoping for a much better performance than last saturday. quick rarely has two sub-par games in a row.

    That is a great photo. I was disappointed to learn that a make-up artist embellished the scars and all the stitches for an article in Life Magazine. They wanted to show how he would look if he had taken every major hit to the face in just one day without the benefit of a mask. Despite that, it's a great illustration of what 'old school' goalies had to live with.

    Here's a picture of him taken in 1966, in roughly the same time frame when the Life Magazine photo was published:

    It is disappointing that the photo is an embellishment, but the fact that his face had gone through all of that punishment is still incredible.
