Since the winter Olympics, hockey has been growing in ratings and fans and even Game 6 of the finals I saw and read how high the ratings were. The NHL has been getting new contracts and have been airing more and more games on national TV along with ESPN wanting in on the action now. Think they still will after a strike? What about the other major networks?

I don't see anyone here really talking about the seriousness of no season and the hit it could take on the NHL in general. Just seems like, oh well no pre-season or oh well no games until Dec. Even something like that will do damage.

Maybe I am overreacting some but I remember the last strike where it almost destroyed the NHL and now hearing players like Ovechkin and Nash saying there likely won't be a season, doesn't help much either.

Truly my friend, this has been discussed to death, all summer long. There are a lot of folks here that know egg zack lee what this lock out could do.
