LA Kings Insider with Jon Rosen

For more quotes, please go to Jon Rosen's blog at LA Kings Insider.

Martin Jones on the team chanting his name as he returned to the room: "The guys have been awesome since I’ve been up here. It’s a great group of guys, and I’m happy to be able to get a couple of wins for ‘em."

Dustin Brown on Anze Kopitar’s goal: "I think they caught them on a change and Kopi is a world class player and made a world class move and shot. That shot is not an easy shot to pull off going back against the grain like that, but that’s why he’s Kopi."

Martin Jones on the team’s defense: "It’s great. Like I said before, we did such a great job in front of the net today picking up sticks and clearing bodies. It makes my job a lot easier. It’s easier to play with confidence when you’re behind these guys."

Darryl Sutter on Alec Martinez’s “opportunity”: “Opportunity to play. Simple. He’s a teen-minute player. If you start pushing him more into that, then it doesn’t benefit our team. He’s playing on the right side right now, so he plays behind Drew, who plays 25 minutes, and he plays behind Slava, who plays 20-plus. So if you add it up and if you’re doing 60, then he’s a 12-to-15 minute guy, and you need quality in there.”

Jonathan Quick on the recovery process: "It’s good. I’m working out. I haven’t started skating yet, but that’s the next step. Hopefully within the next few days or a week or so I could try to get on the ice and see how it feels out there. Obviously you want to get back. You want to play, but you want to do it in the right way, and you don’t want to push it to the point where you end up re-injuring it or doing something that sets you back a little bit. I think so far everything’s gone well. You’ve just got to continue. As tough as it is to watch the team and not be able to play, you’ve just got to keep doing that until you’re ready to go."

Darryl Sutter on what has been impressive in Martin Jones’ game, other than the two wins: "Well, it’s obviously two different approaches. First, back to back games, you need your goalie to come in and do a good job for you, because you’re not always sure how your team’s going to respond for the whole game. He did a really good job in Anaheim, and then last night he was really solid. He didn’t have to be great, but he was solid coming in, especially in the first period."

Ben Scrivens on whether he expected to be the starting goalie Saturday: “I don’t know. I don’t want to speculate too much or tip any hands. Whoever plays, that’s the coach’s decision, and I’ll leave it at that. [Reporter: Did he ever tell you that you were going to be starting yesterday?] The important thing is Jonesy played, and he played extremely well. That should be a bigger story. The guy got his first shutout and played extremely well for the team. That’s the important thing to come out of last night.”

I am actually looking forward to this game after reading all those Habs fans posts in that bleacher thread. It will be tough no doubt as Montreal is playing great hockey as well. Go Kings Go!!

Bold prediction: Kings will finally score a powerplay goal.

They will also beat Montreal Canadiens in regulation.

    Thanks for having me.

The Habs haven't beaten the Flames in Calgary since 2002; here's to the Kings kicking their asses on their home ice.
