Doughty is certainly not playing scared, but he's swung too much the other way, as he tends to do when things are not going well. He's trying to go and get a goal by himself and then turns the puck over. While I love the "I'm gonna get it done, boys" attitude, he needs to pick his spots better.
I agree, but I think it's possible his free wheeling play as of late might be leaving other guys unsure of how they should respond. Once he goes off the reservation, all hell seems to break loose. We saw a rush a couple games back led by him AND Muzzin at the same time. Doughty is supposed to be anchoring that pair though, and as fun as it is to watch those two get creative offensively, i think it might be creating a bit of confusion. But the remaining two pairings are looking off too. I actually feel like Mitchell is the one on the 2nd pairing who seems off the most. Slava is generally playing pretty solid, but mitchell looks slow and unsure quite frequently. Regehr and Greene are probably fairly sound, but their just damn slow.
