LA Kings Insider with Jon Rosen

For more quotes, please go to Jon Rosen's blog at LA Kings Insider.

Darryl Sutter on whether the game got away because of second period mistakes: "No, I thought we played really well. We got a little bit of a bad break on the second goal, and you know what? We’re not scoring any goals right now. We’ve played well enough to win. Other than the game before Christmas, we easily could’ve won the last three. It’s just the way it goes."

Anze Kopitar on how they can keep the losing streak from snowballing: “Yeah, a little bit, it seems that way. But we’re an experienced team and we’re going to have to snap out of it. I mean there’s no other way around it. We’ve lost four now. We’re going into a tough building in a couple days. Maybe that’s what we need, to go in there. I’m pretty sure in St. Louis it’s going to be physical and it’s going to be emotional and it seems like they always bring out the best of us. We’re going to be ready.”

Darryl Sutter on whether Mike Richards is struggling: ''He was really good tonight. I think getting him with Brownie and Willie – you know what? Once we moved Jeff with Kopi, it was hard, and then basically Stoll went with Brown and Williams, and Mike was trying to get other guys going, and it probably took a little bit away from his game, and we’re not getting much in terms of opportunities from our third and fourth lines, so we put Mike back with Brownie and Willie, and he’s played really well."

Ben Scrivens on if he noticed the team’s game slipping before the losing streak: "I leave that kind of stuff up to the coaches to break down how things are going systems wise and whether or not things are slipping. All I can focus on is how I’m playing and how I’m practicing and preparing. I’ll kind of defer to the coaches. That’d probably be a good question for them, rather than myself to answer."

Darryl Sutter on Dustin Brown’s scoring being “off”: “Yeah, it is off. He’s got seven goals in 41 games. So I’d say his scoring is off. Based on that, he’s a 14-goal scorer. That’s not enough, right?”

Ben Scrivens on Tyler Seguin's game winning goal: ''That's how goal scorers score goals. They throw the puck. They find ways to score when it doesn't look like there's room. I've got to give credit to a good player, too."

Jonathan Quick on potentially playing against Drew Doughty in the Olympics: "That’ll be interesting, for sure. Obviously we’ve played together for six years now, so…obviously we’re great friends. That’ll definitely make it a little extra special, just because we kind of grew up together in this league and have been through a lot with the Kings. I think it’s really cool, along with Dean and Brownie playing on our side here. There’ll be a few other guys on our roster here that have real good chances of playing for their country, so hopefully we can get as many guys as possible over there. It’s pretty special."

Jonathan Quick on any difference between the NHL playoffs and the Olympic tournament: "No, pretty same. You’ve got to win. You lose, you lose. You don’t win. You’ve got to win a hockey game. That’s it. Whatever league you’re in, you’ve got to win hockey games."
