Good thoughts all around.
Too many penalties -- particularly interference. This will be inconsistent until the referees work out the kinks in their own games and the players adjust to the new interpretations. With some players in better game shape than others, I think we'll see more "laziness" penalties for the first 6-10 games.
Couldn't agree more.
To me, he looks VERY rusty, which probably isn't surprising given how he spent his off-season. I assume he will be back in form within a few games.
With two of our three stay-at-home guys on the shelf, I was pretty concerned about this, but I thought the defense as a whole has looked pretty good in both of the last two games. Voynov, Martinez, and Drewiske have looked particularly strong at various points.
Yup. With each game, a different guy appears to be completely non-existent. Kopi looks strong. Williams has been non-existent (particularly in the first game). I caught myself wondering toward the end of yesterday's game what Brown had been doing all game. I actually thought Richards had some flashes last night and that Carter played particularly well (even without considering the goal).
Now is definitely the time. I'm a bit disappointed that Smith is out; I was hoping someone might take a run at him. Maybe I'll have to settle for Quick putting his stick to the back of Doan's knees.
I think phx is up for the game, comes out and delivers a beat down. I see no indication that the LAK are ready to face an angry phx team (playoff 'revenge', off a bad loss).
At least the building will only be half full.
I'm most interested to see if Brown steps up physically, or tries to draw penalties.
I disagree. Clifford is a great third line player. He'll never be a top 6 forward.
Here are my thoughts,Quick did play a great game last night except for the game tying goal. I am not a goalie, but if Quick had a do over,he would have used his glove instead of his blocker. That being said, not taking advantage of a 2 minute 5 on 3 in the first period and only putting 4 shots on net on 5 PP's in the first period is a menu for defeat.
If the Kings don't come out intense and focused against Phoenix, I fear that the Yotes will blow them out of the building. We all know that Phoenix has been waiting almost 8 months for a shot at the Kings, who the Coyotes players feel didn't deserve to beat them. I wanna see Brown put a Yotes player through the glass early and drop the gloves if need be to set the tone.
Dubnyk had a horrible game prior to last night giving up 6 goals on 17 shots in the first period. So Labarbara having a bad game last night means very little especially going against an offensively challenged team. Like Pucks stated above, the Yotes will have their A game so the Kings better match it or else it will be a long night.
