Funny how last nights low scoring game culminating in an OT lost had me scratching my head while Thursday nights low scoring game culminating in an OT loss I was completely ok with.
For starters....Why did Sutter change up the lines and make no visible adjustments when it was obvious there was no chemistry? When the team got what seemed like 50 shots on goal vs NJ why then does he decide to mix things up? That move baffles me.
Colin Fraser-thank you for your contributions and congratulations on helping us get a Stanley Cup, but your time is up. Having Vey play with Fraser may as well be like having Vey play with an anchor chained to his ankle. Fraser probably has zero trade value but I could see him being a good player on a younger team looking for vet help. 6th rd pick for Fraser Anyone?
Dont really need to say anything about Scrivens. Without him the Kings are clearly out of a playoff spot. Not sure had we kept Bernier that Bernier would have been able to do anything Scrivens hasnt done.
You can see that Vey is good with puck and is creative when dishing it out-but he needs better linemates for the payoff and to make it work. Not sure why Sutter didnt reunite the Kids line and Kopi-Brown-Williams in the 3rd.
Thanks to the PR dept for showing my twitter feed between periods...if you are interested @ hipchecked to follow me.
Props to the Avs. Say what you will about Roy but they are visibly a far better team than last year from a fundamentals standpoint. Roy has done a good job with them. I am not sure they can keep it up all season but he is to be commended for turning them around.
Overall this is the ebb and flow of a long season and like mama said "there are going to be times like this."
And finally for me peeps in South OC, we will be meeting at Slaters 50/50 in Lake Forest for Mondays game against the Canucks. Hope to see ya there.
