Default How Good a fit would Max Pacioretty Be? Is he available?

Part of that is based on this article:

Most read of 2013, No. 16: Papa Pacioretty NHL trade rumors | NCAdvertiser.com

I'm interested to get folks opinions of his game. Would he be a fit? Is he worth a long term cap hit of $4.5M?

And according to Capgeek.com, we've got a bit of deadline cap space now. How? I have no idea, the whole LTIR thing is black magic to me.

Now, what's he going to cost?

I'm actually willing to part with multiple prospects and picks to get him.

    Lets hear it!

at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

If the team was a decent scoring team, maybe.

What I see is a guy who has 19 goals in 30 something games in Montreal, but would get to LA and in the next 30 probably score 3 maybe 4. That's just my 2 cents.

Stranger things have happened but I doubt they move him. Doesn't seem to me that there's anything beyond a lateral trade possible with roster players in addition to the prospects and picks.

Montreal needs to get more physical up front. It would likely take Brown, or Clifford + for the Kings to land Patches.

I don't see how the Kings moving Brown for Patches helps, unless you just think Brown is done and is over the hill.

I think he'd be a good fit, but I don't see the Kings offering what it would take to land him.

I'd love to get Pacs but I'm not sure we'd want to give up what it will take. Probably would be TT +.

Me too! $4.2 per year better than Brown at 7.2.

I'm moving Clifford here. He's had every chance to take a top 6 role and although I realize it takes longer for power forwards to develop, I'm willing to part with him for scoring help now.

Lets throw this out there, Clifford, Pearson, Martinez or another fringe prospect, and a 1st. Does that get it done? Is it way too much?
