Healthy food doesn't have to be expensive. Buy in bulk and portion it out throughout the week. Its very easy to do. People are just too lazy to take ownership of their diet in this aspect. I was in the health and fitness industry for 10 years.

Read Fast Food Nation and I guarantee you that you'll never eat that **** again. I wouldn't eat there if they paid me. The only thing I would consider eating there now is an Egg McMuffin and coffee. And that would be as a last resort.

Using the $1 menu is a copout. When my wife and I have kids, they will NEVER eat there. Not a chance in hell. If you don't condition them to like that ****, they won't crave it. Eating healthy doesn't mean it doesn't taste good.

Sorry, it just pisses me off to see what companies like McDonald's are doing to this country. Yah there is plenty of personal accountability involved here. But McD's doesn't give a rats ass about you, me or anyone else. They serve up horrible food and treat their employees like absolute ****.

despite your assessment, mcdonald's is the greatest franchise of all time. how could mcdonald's make a profit and be as successful as they have over 50 years if they don't care about anyone including their employees? if they don't care about their employees, why do so many people still choose to work there? it's the bad economy, isn't it? why do people keep spending money there? bad economy, right?

the incessent commercials about mcdonalds dulled your ability to make rational judgments, and you have no free-will to choose to eat mcdonalds or something else. right fropitar? is the burger meat addictive, like nicotine in cigarettes?

Because there are loads and loads of people in this world who refuse to believe/believe what they want. And USA media does a pretty good job convincing people the way USA elite wants. McDonald's is so successful because it was innovative and had a very strong marketing. And TASTY food (note TASTY, not healthy, not even not unhealthy). People work for McDonald's because it's iconic and influential and that makes people want to work for them. Combine that with simple-mindedness of many people (not just in USA, of course), you can't justify McDonald's "good intentions" with their success.

And people spend money there because it's cheap and (to many) tasty. There are SO many people around that don't care or just don't want to think about their diet...

My parents were raised in socialism, I was raised in a perverted turbo-capitalism, mixed with complete political corruption that is only now getting the attention it needs.

I greatly prefer capitalism over socialism (let alone communism). But if you think everything is fine and dandy with capitalism, you're dead wrong. And USA does so much disgusting stuff for money there really isn't any doubt about this. OF COURSE the rest of the (capitalistic) world is not that far behind...but that's exactly what is the problem. The world looks up to the USA, but in many cases that's not the right way to go.

    Yep, agreed 100%.
