Numbers game. The Kings didn't want to get rid of him, but he did not make the team out of camp and due to how long he had been with the organization, had to go through waivers to go back down to the AHL. If Martinez, Mitchell and Greene were out at that time, he would not have been sent down.

Good for Hickey....but that is what the waiver wire is for. The Kings were more or less loaded on defense over the past few years. It just so happens now they had a couple of injuries.

As to the OT winner: who is #91? I thought it was Butch Goring for a second there...I'm having flash-backs.
