Red face was Jeff Carter on everone's television tonight???

i'm just checking. because i thought i saw a s***load of Carter all over the ice... then somehow fail to make it onto the three-stars selection.

but better than that... Anze Kopitar got the #1 star. ANZE KOPITAR!

i mean, like, double you tee eff, mate?

i thought it may have looked different live, or the media had a different feed or something.

On a small screen, 77 can look like 11 sometimes.

I was similarly perplexed by that selection. Perhaps the press box crew were confused by the similar look of "11" and "77" on the uniform backs.

But then again, Kopitar did have the smarts to pass the puck to Slava for the tying goal.

That high/low screen set up by Williams and Carter was a thing of beauty, wasn't it? I think the boys are rounding into shape nicely.

Hope they keep the progress going vs. the Preds.

Carter did great, breaking our PP shutout streak at 0-25 with his ole Flyer teammates Gagne and Richards, it was HUGE!

Maybe the Kings should leave those three on the PP unit, we might get some scores like they did in Philly....it's called chemistry.....I have seen a lot of Flyers Hockey with them on the PP unit, and don't recall ever seeing the team hit 0-25 because these guys were out there every chance the coach got...

    hint...hint....

Kopi was fantastic tonight, but that star should have gone to Carts. They had to give one star to a 'nuck to keep Vancouver from burning again.

They must have voted before OT.

Carter was busting his ass at both ends. The back check on the breakaway to bust up a scoring chance, and then shouldering the dude off the puck, was outstanding.

I will say that Kopitar looked like his old self, and was absolutely nuclear in the faceoff circle. I don't remember who the young kid he kept picking on was, but he knew he had him every time he stepped in and started moving the winger into the shooting hole.

at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

Carts definitely should have been first star. just knew when he jumped off the bench that he was scoring in the shootout.

He's pretty dynamite on the faceoff when he isn't being kicked out of the circle, that's for sure. But then again the refs are really calling those faceoffs closely.

Edit: Also I'd never expected in a million years that we would have both Richards and Carter young and in their prime on the Kings.

Additionally, Carter's shootout heroics allowed the Kings to slide back into that familiar 8th spot in the Western Conference standings. Movin' on up!
