Thread: "Just Drop It" campaign?

Has anyone heard about this? It's a campaign this guy is running to have people boycott (when/if hockey ever comes back) the same # of games that are canceled:

Chase started the grass roots "Just Drop It" campaign that encourages fans to boycott one NHL game for every game canceled after Dec. 21. No tickets, no TV, no merchandise -- not a minute or a penny spent on the league, punishment for what he believed are continued abuses of loyalty on their fan base.

He made a video and started a Facebook page, urging fans to click the "like" button and join the cause. More than 11,000 angry fans have joined since the weekend, a puck drop in the circle compared to the millions of fans who attend games, but the latest small sign fans won't again be easily won back.

So...let's see...after the league and PA "punishes" us for X-number of games, we're supposed to then "punish" ourselves for another X-number of games? Oh...and while we're punishing ourselves, it will also supposedly punish the league and the players. Kinda reminds me of those gas price protests that crop up every now and then where we're supposed to teach the oil companies a lesson by not buying gas next Tuesday.

Im game to boycott the whole season. I have gotten use to no Hockey and found other ways to entertain myself this Hockey season. If it hurts them by us boycotting,Im in!

If any of you want to boycott the home opener, I'll take your tickets please.

I have heard of it and I think it is cool to see some unity amongst the fans, it has already gotten national and international attention...

I grunt "Just Drop It" when I'm on the throne unless I'm reading a book. Then it can take a while.

I wish I could be apathetic like some of you, but I'm still angry...and out of beer.

This is, possibly, the dumbest thing ever.
