i think it would be easier if you were able to edit the file as a csv in excel.

If you poke around the settings for google cal you will find set events for sports, sunsets, holidays, etc. The sports ones may work on your local time. I think my calendar changes when I'm in a different time zone.

Any help for a serious noob is appreciated, but is there a good, easy way to do this for an iPhone? That's really my only convenient scheduling tool.

This iCal subscription is kept current by Yahoo. Been very reliable for me the last 2 seasons.

    webcal://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/teams/los/ical.ics

Just tell iCal/Calendar this is a new calendar subscription, paste in this URL and voila.

Google usually has one for almost every pro sports team, and you just select that you want it. No need to download or anything, just there to use if you use google calendar, which I do, even on my iPad. I also am not putting any calendars in yet, its like celebrating the cup before game 6 was over, no jinxing, cuz I have faith they get a deal done...
