Default Was The Kings' 2014 Cup-run the most record-breaking team-sports championship EVER?

I cannot think of another team in ANY team-sport with a more record-establishing championship run than our 2014 Kings.

    I really can't.

    Can anybody?

    Again, here are the records:

----The 1st team in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup after going down
0-3 in a PO series preceding the finals

---- The 1st team in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup after playing
    26 PO games

----The 1st team in NHL history to reach the Stanley Cup Finals after playing
a full 7-games in ALL 1st 3 rounds of the POs.

---- The 1st team in NHL history to win the Stanley Cup after playing a full
7-games in the 1st 3 rounds of the POs.

---- The 1st team in NHL history to win 3 straight PO overtime games
without ever having led during regulation in any of the games

---- The 1st team in NHL history to total as many as 64 PO games played
    over 3 consecutive seasons

---- The 1st team in NHL history to come back from 2-goal deficits and win in 3
    consecutive PO games.

-----The 1st team in NHL history to go 7-0 in elimination games and win The
    Stanley Cup.
[Only one team in NHL history posted more such wins in a single
playoff year, but the 1975 New York Islanders (eight) were eliminated in the
    Stanley Cup semifinals.]

    Plus, these short-list accomplishments:

----Only the 4th team in NHL history to win a PO series after going down 0-3
----Only the 3rd team in NHL history to play 26 PO games
    ================================================== ================================================== ========================================

Unless someone can talk me down, or give me examples to the contrary, I just have to consider
The Kings' 2014 Stanley Cup Chanpionship
the most record-setting championship in the history of team sports.

    Yup.

Ofcourse, if you listen to LA sports-talk-radio, you'd think The Kings' record-setting Cup win was less important
than whether Carmelo Anthony likes the restrooms in Staples Center.

Hence why I like the 2014 run a little better than the 2012 run. 2012 was emotional, 2014 was historical.

Also shut up all those critics who said the 2012 run was a fluke because it was easy run to the top. Most of the critics being fans of teams the Kings took out this playoff run.

Didn't we also tie for the most shutouts in a playoff run?

edit: OK, so, no....(see posts below)

I honestly cannot think of another team sport championship since the 1960s at least, where as many records were set as this one.

    I REPEAT:
The Kings' 2014 Cup----GREATEST CHAMPIONSHIP EVER IN TEAM SPORTS HISTORY.

No. I don't know what the record is, but we only had two shutouts in the 2014 playoffs: Game 5 vs San Jose and Game 3 vs New York (not that I'm complaining!). In both 2012 and 2013 we had three playoff shutouts.

Great post...the series was a heart attack to watch and winning made it that much sweeter.

One other accomplishment you can add....first Western Conference team to come back from 0-3.
