I doubt the quote was that brash but I think I get the basic idea of what you're repeating. What did you expect him to say? That he was at his house here but it was too hard to watch or attend the game even though two of his best friends were at Staples Center to watch the Kings win? That it was hard to swallow because maybe he could've been winning the cup there? Is that what professional athletes say in those situations? Publicly you must move on to your new team and embrace your new fan base. Quotes without context are easy to fit in to a mold of the reader's bias. That doesn't make the interpretation accurate.

JJ does a few things well, but he's not the equal of any of the others in that sentence.

true of Brown, but lol at Doughty and Kopitar hate. Team USA would love to have DD in it's first pairing. Kopitar would make every Olympic team.

His game has struggled and he hasn't lived up to expectations, but there's no need to question his character and integrity. Of course he cared about winning a cup when he was here. Geez.
    well said.
As much as I'm harsh on players (JJ before; Brown, RR now), never forget to distinguish playing ability from the person.
From what I gather, DD isn't the individual JJ is. Young, famous, immature, a-hole, what? I don't know. But he plays the **** out of some hockey.

    The quote is:
"I don't feel any emotional connection to the Kings at all. To me, it's just another hockey game. I've completely turned the page like that. If I'm out and I happen to see it on TV, it's really not a big deal...

"To be honest with you, I could care less if they win or lose. Some guys on that team I played with, I'll always consider friends. But whether they win or not, it means nothing to me."
    http://www.dailynews.com/sports/20120530/former-kings-defenseman-jack-johnson-i-have-no-rooting-interest-either-way

So my paraphrasing toned down his brash and smug comments.

I was a huge JJ supporter, and will continue to be so when he plays for Team USA.

    From the espn article
Holmgren suggests that if Yandle makes the team, ostensibly because of his power-play expertise, then they should balance one of the final spots with a player with more defensive upside, like Erik Johnson or Jack Johnson.
    HAHAHA lol philly
no wonder they make the moves they make. my god.

I was shocked when they didn't pick Bobby Ryan. I wonder what's going on with that.

read the espn link. it's fascinating not only on why they chose particular players but the Gm's involved with the selection.
For ryan it came down to being a limited player who's particular skill set was deemed redundant.
And after that article, I'm sooooooo glad to have DLombardi rather than the likes of Burke or Holmgren. Jesus Christ some of those guys are out there.

You blame JJ for being bitter? He took a discount to play for LA and got shipped off.

Was he supposed to wave a King flag in honor of the cup?

Dude, Don ****ing Waddell is part of the USA brain-trust. Now that **** is scary.

Looking at the USA roster, we cannot match the high end skill of Canada, Russia or Sweden. Our Defense is clearly behind Canada and Sweden. And our goaltending ranks behind Sweden and Finland, probably on par with Canada. Miller is going to have to carry the team on his back, even more so than 2010, if we're going to medal. And you just know some upstart team like the Finns, Czechs or Slovaks will end up beating a powerhouse 2-1 and playing for a medal. It's a bit early but I really don't like our odds.

Fowler, Orpik and Stepan are absolute head-scratchers, to me. Give me Yandle, E. Johnson/A. Greene and Bobby Ryan, considering the rest of the roster, every single day.

Discount? LOL At this point he's exceedingly over-paid.

On the other issue he shouldn't have to root for any team that traded him. I can understand that completely.
