Default Kings make a profit in 2012...woo hoo.

It took winning the cup, but the LA Kings finally made it in the black last season with 1.8mil.

Wow, only made $1.8 million after going 4 rounds and winning it all? Sorry, but that has to be BS. The financial voodoo going-on must be mesmerizing. The Jets made $13 million only on selling-out their 16000 seat arena and merch?

Where does it say they made 1.8 mil? I was under the impression that they lost money last year but were close to breaking even. I wonder where they get these numbers.

For 210 Million, the only team you're going to get is the Islanders.

They are valued at 270 that was before the lockout surely the value of the teams has and will go down even the first few years after it settled

I think it says 1.8 million as a operating income. and with only 9 home playoff games. And now with seats going up anywhere from 10%-48% those profits will be that 35% plus he new Fox TV rights .

Under the Team Value page at 1. Toronto Maple Leafs - Mike Ozanian SportsMoney - Forbes

13 teams had negative operating income. In Nov 2011 the Kings lost money but it appears that 4 rounds of playoffs finally got them in the black. NJ, also because of the 4 playoff rounds, made 2.8 million. Maybe these teams would make more if like the leafs they would charge $250 seat. No individuals can afford season seats for the leafs.

Fortunately, since the Kings aren't a public company it doesn't matter how they "report" their numbers to the public. They can say pretty much anything. I'd love to know what they report to the IRS...but it would still be buried in the AEG books...
