I'll fork up whatever cost to go to the banner raising ceremony. My main concern is how much will the schedule be altered from the one now? I've already booked plane tickets to NYC for the Kings' February east coast swing...if the dates for those games get adjusted I'll be...disappointed to say the least. I don't exactly try to plan east coast trips in the dead of winter

Prepare to be disappointed then. If the NHL plans to have an 82 game schedule, then the current schedule already released is going to have to be changed dramatically.

    Default Kings Opening Night?

I purposely didn't get tickets to the Vancouver/Calgary/Edmonton swing in February until this was resolved.

I will also be there at whatever time on whatever day the banner is raised. Ive waited too damn long. My boss already knows I will be taking the day off to see this. He's already sent me a text with te November 3rd date. Whatever day it is I will get it off.

Considering nothing has been finalized, I think it goes without saying that it's too early to tell what the schedule is going to look like.

Also, I don't care about any "sport" that isn't hockey, so I apologize to Mr. Ed and his pals for not being all that interested in his shenanigans.

I will wait until this is finalized. They are still a long way away, but it did get shorter today.

I have thought all summer about the banner raising ceremony and I think I posted what I did because that would just be my lousy luck ..I was at all the playoff games in 93 and for me being there is just as important to anyone else on this board.

I happen to hear this from my Dodger fan friends that how can one have an allegiance to 2 teams.Very easily.I love the Dodgers and Kings equally. The other is work.I really admire how passionate Kings fans are though.

The rumor (and only rumor) that I had heard is that the NHL was trying to keep the existing schedule from 11/2 forward and try to find places to insert the cancelled games within the teams' existing schedule. That sounds insane but it is the NHL.

I've also heard a rumor that the Blackhawks want to maintain their tickets in order of game played so stuff like their loser banner ceremony on opening night will still be held for people who have tickets to Game 1 rather than the 11/2 or whatever night. So basically the date on the Blackhawks ticket would become invalid and only the game number would matter. Which also seems insane. So either NHL teams are nuts or my friends are nuts. Or both.

I'm going with both. haha The problem with trying to fit the cancelled games in is that quite a few of the venues will already have an event planned. If the NHL wanted an 82 schedule, they shouldn't haven't been outrageously idiotic enough to impose a lockout in the first place. The only way to have an 82 game season now is to completely make up a new schedule.
