Thread: Kings Press Conference Thurs (Streamed on FSW & KingsVision)

The Los Angeles Kings, the 2012 Stanley Cup Champions, are scheduled to host a News Conference this Thursday, January 10, beginning at 4 p.m. The event will help kick-off the club’s 2012-13 Regular Season.

Kings Governor Tim Leiweke, President/General Manager Dean Lombardi, President, Business Operations Luc Robitaille, and Head Coach Darryl Sutter are slated to be featured along with additional guests. The news event will be hosted by Bob Miller and will be broadcast live on FOX Sports West (it will also re-air several times including 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursday and three times on Friday), and it will be streamed live on LAKings.com and FoxSportsWest.com.

Just got that pres release.... WTF is that all about? Come on Rinky, just spill the beans. Its KC isn't? The Kings are moving to KC, right?

Sounds pretty big since they're repeating it on tv so much. Possibly announcing the new owner of the Kings/AEG?

That is not happening. In fact there will never be an NHL franchise based in Kansas City (both of them) ever again. The NHL is trying to not be a failure. They would never put a franchise in a location that is guaranteed to fail.

I am fairly certain he was joking. As might you be, just can't tell. I mean it isn't like the NHL put a team in Atlanta...twice.

Doubt that. Why would they hold out on a major announcement for a huge company like AEG until the delayed start of the NHL season?

Doubt that. Why would they hold out on a major announcement for a huge company like AEG until the delayed start of the NHL season?

You're right, probably not all of AEG. But if someone expresses interest in buying (only) the Kings, it'd make sense to wait until the lockout dust settled and there's excitement for the new season and banner.

But now I have a new theory: Bob Miller announcing his retirement after this season? I'm just trying to think of what would be big enough to warrant so much tv coverage.
