Thread: Kings Stanley Cup banner - new location from the Home Opener

I was at Staples Center tonight and looked up towards the rafters and saw the Stanley Cup banner where it rightfully belongs (next to our other banners). On Opening Day, they raised it to the rafters in a horrible location in my opinion. Glad to see that it was only a temporary location. This one is much better. Kings fans will see it on Jan 28th - next home game.

They did the same thing at Robitaille's retirement (raised the number to the rafters in some random spot, then moved it to the wall with the others between games). To me, both these raisings bugged me. I understand they temporarily raise it over the ice so that the players can be more hands-on with it, but I personally feel the ceremony isn't complete until the banner ends up in it's final, rightful place. So instead of the fans being there to see Robitaille's jersey settle amongst those of other Kings greats, or the Stanley Cup banner amongst other past Kings accomplishments, it's Staples' ushers and janitors who are present (and likely not paying attention to this glorious moment). Eh, my opinion anyways.

I wonder where our 2nd banner will go?

I was standing at that end with my camera on opening day and there it went up at the other end of the rink and sideways at that.

If we get a 2nd Stanley Cup banner, I wouldn't be opposed to just removing the conference and division ones

What division banner/s?

Not to be an ass... but how is it a new location if we all knew it was going there?

I like the white banners better
