First, that is just painful to watch.

Second, it struck me how few people in the stands were wearing jerseys or any sort of Canadiens gear. Was that not a "thing" yet in MTL at that time?

Third, where the hell was Gretzky on the winning shot??? When the puck left the MTL zone (less than 20 seconds after the face-off and only about 40 seconds after the opening face-off of OT), Gretzky was along the left wing boards about even with the face-off dot. Huddy and Sydor were both in position, and Sandstrom (who was deeper in the MTL zone than Gretzky) and Rychel were backchecking and deep in the defensive zone after the first shot from Desjardins. By the time Desjardins took his second shot, Gretzky EASILY should have made it into the defensive zone and been in good position to prevent Desjardins from getting such a clean shot, but he is NOWHERE to be seen. Where did he go? Did he stay near the MTL blue line so that he could cherry pick? At the very end of one of the replays (at about 2:48 of the video), you can see a fifth Kings player come into the picture from what looks like the direction of the benches. I can't tell if it that player is Gretzky or someone else. Did Gretzky go for a change and leave his teammates outnumbered in the defensive zone? Not exactly a good time to be changing, and he shouldn't have been gassed at that point. Obviously, this is water under the bridge, but I was just curious if anyone had any thoughts about this.

At first glance when I saw this, I thought "Oh good, we get to relive game 2 vs. the Devils". Then I looked more closely and groaned. Why oh why do we have to revisit one of the most painful moments in Kings history?
