    Default Kopi and lockout (googletranslate)

Kopitar: Imam kar nekaj možnosti, lahko bi igral tudi na Å*vedskem

Bled - Slovenian hockey player Anze Kopitar, the Los Angeles Kings in the Champions League NHL is preparing for the new season at home in Upper Carniola. You will wait for the outcome of talks between management and the union league players, where it has not yet found an agreement for the commencement of the competition, in the event that agreement can not be, already has some spare plans to play in Europe.
Anze Kopitar, the first Slovenian headed to the Stanley Cup at the end of the summer grinding shape for the upcoming season 2012/13 in Bled. In the past few weeks in the company of a number of Slovenian ice hockey players who have commitments now in the clubs, but then lately with my brother Gašper and Miho Svetetom. "Three little easier to train like one. There are good and the work we are also good to have. "
At home waiting for the conclusion of a contract between the league and players. The two sides last met in Friday, where they broke up without agreement and without the appointment of a new negotiation, as the view that the new negotiations at any time. "Prepare to be home and then quickly went across the pond when it comes to an agreement," the STA assessed Kopitar and adds that in the event that an agreement will not occur in a short time, most played in Sweden.
Kopitar firmly stands for the union of actors
"I have quite a few options, if agreement can not be. If the Swedes opened the possibility of short-term contracts, to join his brother in Mori, few options in Switzerland. Tough week ahead of us waiting and you never know when they may agree. Followed by quick packing. Quick packaging will turn even if this agreement can not be. Of course, before moving to a new club followed by a number of agreements with the managers, because the NHL hockey check all the details of their contracts, especially in the case of collateral damage, "said Kopitar.
Anyway, Kopitar supporting actor union and says: "I am convinced that we are negotiating on a realistic basis." Mind argues that regardless of the center of the new season physically 100 per cent ready. Additional month break to him at this time even benefit if the players and league executives agreed on. "We had a really long season and it would really be able to come to you. Financial course, this is not good, not for us, not for the clubs. We all know that the losses on both sides. "However, eagerly awaiting the start of matches:" Nobody likes trains. All you want to play. "
The last talks between unions and management on Friday took less than two hours. Now valid contract will expire at the end of the week, 15 September. League commissioner Gary Bettman has already announced a "lock out" if an agreement will not occur. This would probably have meant the first change in the competition calendar and a later start league, to be under the existing schedule began in October.
The collapse of the club is not good for Jesenice
At the heart of discussions, of course, money. Currently, players under contract receive 57 percent of revenues, clubs by players now for the next six seasons offer 46 original bid was 43 percent. Donald Fehr, executive director of the players union, says it is disappointed over the supply, but the other side also argues that requires players unrealistic.
When socializing with the Slovenian media Kopitar also touched on the situation in Jesenice, which says that for hockey and the city of Jesenice is not good. "What exactly happened, but I do not know. This year I was in Podmežakli only once, when I showed a friend from the U.S., where I skated when I was little. "

The lockout is actually a win-win kind of situation for Sovenia. A 2 month lockout would mean a better chance of defending the cup and Kopi is a hero again or the lockout is extended an he plays in the Olympic qualifyers. yay

From what I've heard if there's a lockout first choice is Mora IK (Allsvenskan, second best Swedish league) to play with his brother. SEL (best Swedish league) won't allow for these short-term lockout contracts, so a sizeable amount of Swedish and other players could end up in Allsvenskan. Back up plan is Switzerland where a number of NHL players are expected to play as well in case of a lockout.

My beer league team is going to make Kopi a pretty lucrative offer, so don't hold your breath on him playing for Slovenia.

He won't play in Slovenia. "His" club Jesenice is bankrupt, so there is 0.0 % that he will play in Slovenia. He will probably play in Sweden with his brother (IIRC, the clubs name is Mora, in Sweden).

I meant for Slovenia in the Olympic qualifiers. We're not releasing him for national team duty. Sorry.
