Sorry but, the lock-out was not about fun. It wasn't fun for the owners, majority of players, people whose lives depended on the games, or the fans. We should all have a lot more respect for the players who remained here in the States and fought it out for their beliefs.

    Odd.
Taz, apologies for the snarkiness of my reply. I just reread it; must have been having a bad morning.

I get your comments about taking roster spots away from other guys, I really do. But just b/c guys didn't go overseas to play doesn't show solidarity to me. I mean, how many players "remained in the States and fought it out for their beliefs"? Just cause they were here didn't mean they were actively involved in the negotiations. And most probably weren't.
I still say it's about loyalty. These players work for and are getting paid by the NHL. Whether the players or NHL were right regarding this damned stupid lock-out isn't the point. Staying home was a way of supporting the Union (I'm no Union lover but still think if you belong to it than for God sakes stand with it.) Don't go running off somewhere else to have fun while all this seriousness is taking place. Doesn't bother me when I'm alone with how I think. As all know, I march to a different drum and have a mind of my own.
As for Crosby, I don't give a rats ass what that guy does, one way or the other. He's a pet of the NHL and sports writers.

Kings did have one representative during CBA talks and that was Westgarth, anyway..

So you would rather see Kopitar in the States, not playing games than vice versa in Europe? Excuse me, but thats just foolish. Supporting the Union? Come on...

He was a top scorer in last season playoffs and one of the best players on the roster, yet some still find a way to complain. What's wrong with you people? Just be glad there'll be 48+ Kings games this season.

Ill take a 32 year old injury prone 40+ goal scorer in what may be his last year in the NHL I will bet the guy pots 30 goals and people on this board go ape**** for Gagne.
Theres a lot of guys who - with extra time off - are going to be really really good through a mini-season.

Good news for Kings: Dean Lombardi says prognosis on Kopitar made in Sweden was basically right. 2-3 weeks recovery expected.

When you consider the 8 hour time difference it is really more like 1.9524 weeks to 2.9524 weeks

He injured it last Saturday. I'm assuming 2-3 weeks dates back to then.

    Didn't see this anywhere else:

The Kings expect him [Kopitar] to be sidelined for at least another two weeks.
    No timetable for Willie's return.
