Unfortunately, I think the Kings are kind of damned if they do, damned if they don't. If they park it somewhere for free all day, people are going to complain about the lines or being rushed through and not really getting to see the Cup. If they have the Cup somewhere and charge to raise money for Kings Care or another charity (something that will serve as crowd control), then people complain about having to pay to see the Cup.
I just don't think there's any way for the Kings to have scheduled things to make everyone happy. Like in this thread, there are people in San Diego and Orange County complaining the Cup didn't make many, if any, appearances in those areas. Everyone posting here knows there are Kings fans in those areas. But there are some out in Palm Springs too. The IE got some appearances, mainly because of the Reign. If you start making appearances in San Diego, Orange County, Palm Springs, and the IE, then Kings fans that live north in Ventura and Santa Barbara (and again, we know there are Kings fans up North) are going to complain that the Kings are ignoring them. They're going to schedule appearances in the most centrally located locations so most people can see the Cup.
