Great seeing him and how positive he is. Unfortunately, his wife didn't look too happy to be here.
I was hoping I wasn't the only one to notice how visibly uncomfortable his wife was. Seems like she couldn't wait for it all to be over.
I've never seen so many unhappy family members. The kids looked like they were off to see the dentist right when the leave the ice. Mom looked happy...but Ian's wife? Brrrrrrr......cold as ice. Did they have an argument that morning? Did Ian have some old flames show up to Staples? She was one miffed off lady.
I'll always remember Lappy leaving the blue line during the Nat'l Anthem to skate behind the net just before the singer was done. He's the only player I ever saw do that.
I noticed how unhappy the wife looked as well. Maybe she just felt uncomfortable being out there at center ice in front of so many people.
Great seeing Lappy, he was definitely one of my favorite players and I'm glad the Kings decided to honor him. Well deserved!
+5 on noticing the unhappy looking wifey.
Usually one can fake being interested for an important public event. If you can't do it for your spouses last public tribute, you've got much deeper problems.
Sorry but she looked like a total bitch to me. Her husband is getting a major tribute even though he was never really a "superstar" in the league, and she just looks angry and irritated to be there. The kids looked bored also.
Even when he thanked her and gave the nod of his family supporting him and his love for wife and kids she looked ice cold and annoyed. Weird.
I'm not an all 40 years fan. Lappy was a huge, enormous influence upon me discovering that hockey is actually cooler than baseball. He is literally the Genesis of my fandom.
Boo-ya-ka-sha. Respekt.
