Loktionov didn't play more than 3 games a month because he didn't deserve more than 3 games a month. If he was better than Kopitar, Richards, Stoll, or Fraser, or if he could've played the wing he would have been in the lineup. I think Loktionov obviously had the potential to be worth more than a 5th rounder if he were able to get playing time. But he didn't get a chance to so he's worth less. But you have to look at it this way. The reason why the Kings won the cup is because we're so stacked. We were able to do it without him (for the most part). It's time to move on and let him have a shot at the big leagues with another club. He deserves that much. That's all there is to it. Just be glad the Kings got something for him in return unlike Hickey.

Yeah, you don't blame the coaches because he didn't stick. You blame the player.

at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

For some reason I think this one might haunt us. The kid has godlike passing ability the reason he never produced is because he didn't have someone who could SHOOT. Countless times this kid dished perfect passes to guys like Stoll and Lewis who couldn't hit the side of a barn from point blank. Lokti is VERY talented and has hockey IQ off the charts. Honestly we have not seen him since him for any real stretch of time for 2 years. Can you tell I was gunning for this guy?
Also worth noting Lokti used to center Adam Henrique in Windsor.
"godlike passing ability" might qualify as best use of hyperbole I've seen around here in a long, long time. This is a lot of nothing about nothing. He's going to be a career AHL'er/Euro league player. "Just watch..."
Dean building up draft picks. Love it. If they don't crack the lineup, fresh blood is ready to take their place. Keep this machine rolling.
Somebody make a list of everybody in this thread who thinks Loktionov should have been traded for more than a 5th round pick and when he's out of the league in 2 seasons lets dredge up that list and make them admit they were wrong.
Also....
I think the New Jersey Devils are a great fit for Loktionov. They made it to the Finals without getting their names on the Cup too!
