Long Beach Bombers host L.A. Kings this Sunday Nov 18 @12:30pm

Just got this email from the Long Beach Bombers, a Junior team playing at Glacial Garden in Lakewood. They're part of the Western States Hockey League (WSHL).

This Sunday, November 18, the Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings will join the Long Beach Bombers for an exciting 12:30p home game vs the undefeated Dallas Ice Jets. The Kings will be bringing their promotion & in-game entertainment crews.

Starting at 11:00am, it will include Kings alumni autographs, inflatable puck shot game, street hockey, t-shirt giveaway, Kings Ice Crew, and mascot Bailey.

During the game, the Bombers will welcome the Kings' PA announcer David Courtney, the Staples Center music/organist director, the Kings Ice Crew, and sumo hockey during the intermission!

Beer, wine, coffee, hot chocolate, snacks, and hot food will be sold all game long.

Adults - $9
Children u12 - $4

I see this was posted on the LA Kings web site two days ago. I plead guilty to not checking out that site as often as I used to.

The Bombers are a Tier III Junior 'A' Ice Hockey team. The players are 15-20 years old. To give a feel for the players and team here are pictures I've taken at six of their games earlier in this season:

Nov 2, Oct 26, Oct 6, Oct 5, Sep 29, and Sep 28.

Hmmm, I have a game there at 3:45pm, maybe I'll arrive a bit early to take some of this in.

I am going to go. Need a hockey fix beyond beer league and pick up games.

Any word on which Kings Alumni will be there?

Ian Turnbull. But Miller, Nickson, and Evans were all there so my DVD is only missing Fox!

Overall, it was a pretty low key event without much "fanfest" stuff. But then ANYTIME Bob Miller, Nick Nickson, Daryl Evans, David Courtney, and the ice crew are all in the same place, it's a great time.

But getting my game 6 DVD autographed by 3 out of 4 of the broadcasters was awesome!!

Long Beach Bombers? I thought this was roller derby or something.

Like JT said, it was pretty low key, but man, how rad was it to get the chance to meet bob miller, nick nickson, daryl evans, david courtney, ian turnbull! i shot the ***** with jay flats for a bit, just talking about the fanfest events they have been doing. I printed out the picture of Bob hoisting the cup with Dustin Brown and Nick Nickson next to him, he was super stoked to see that I had done that. They had standard issue photos that they were signing, and they graciously signed those for me as well. And they were signing jerseys an jackets and just about anything anyone wanted signed. Each one of them took the time to talk to the fans as we filed through in line.

After I had those signed, we walked over to the merchandise trailer, and they had the book/dvd combo! I was stoked since I didnt order it online, my wife bought it for me right then and there, for my birthay (next saturday)The best part was when I had Bob and Nick sign my "Official Story of the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion LA Kings Book", Bob was thumbing through it, and Nick had never seen it before! We all chatted for a couple minutes about it and they were so great to talk with, pure class!!!
