That's it. If I recall correctly, you've been quite critical of Martinez and his soft minutes since the Cup run. Has he finally won you over?

    Well, no.

I have been critical of him, yes, but just because I think he plays his role well as a #6 doesn't mean that I take back what I said about him in the past. He HAS had soft minutes, and he continues to get easier minutes compared to any other defenseman on the roster. He is put in a position to succeed, and I'm glad he's doing well. But there's not much more I'd expect from him.

And I sure as **** am not one of those people who think the Kings would "regret trading Martinez for a long time, just like when the Kings let Sydor and Boucher go."

Right now I would like to see Regehr sit in favor of Martinez with Mitchell paired with Voynov.

No way I would mess with the Doughty-Muzzin pairing at this time. Martinez is a good PM defenseman on the bottom pairing.

    Back to the bench.

If the Kings are ever going to make Martinez a player, these are the games he has to play. Even if he causes problems now, at least he could improve. The likes of Greene, Regehr and Mitchell are known quantities. Let them rest.

After the way Greene played last night, let's hope he stays healthy the rest of the way and is in the lineup every night. Greene should never be a healthy scratch.

You may want to re-think that now. I think he (and RR and WM) each need nights off to keep them in top form. Their styles of play, along with their ages should get them a day off here and there so they could stay in top form for longer periods.

It would be a HUGE mistake to get rid of this guy. I hope Sutter is finally starting to realize that. We lose a ton of puck-moving ability when Greene and Regehr are out there. Mitchell has lost a step as well. I honestly think Martinez is one of our best puck moving defenseman. He is also really good at reading plays and knowing when to go on offense.
