Alzner, along with most of the Caps D has been a wreck this season. Things were so bad that they broke up the Carlzner pairing which has been together for 3 years or so.

I see the Caps wanting goaltending help but their D is such a mess that I can't see McPhee trading Alzner. He has a reasonable salary and should be a good NHL defenseman. Contrast that to grandpa Hamrlik, torn groin Poti, never was good Schultz, pylon slow Erskine. If you thought the Kings D was struggling, go watch the Craps and you'll feel good about things.
