This is not a shocker to me. He's basically saying that the team needs to figure its stuff out on its own, instead of waiting for one or two guys to come back from injury. Kinda reminds me of previous seasons and a lot of conversations at Taco Bell. This team will eventually get the hunger back. Saying that it would be "fun to win it again" doesn't create the same level of desire as what they had at the start of the 2012 post-season.
I have faith that they'll get it back.

I'd say this is more of a mentality the front office is taking rather than an actual medical analysis.
Mitchell will still likely to be back, but Dean doesn't have time to play the waiting game. The team needs wins and he needs a Top 4 shutdown D-man to help get them.
Last I heard he had been skating again while the Kings are on the road, so I'm also thinking this is more of a "that's the mentality we have to have" statement than anything else.
Cleared, then done. Nicely put. I wonder how is Mitchell, really
Might be time to package up Bernier with some other goodies and get Karl Alzner.
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.
