lack of effort? c'mon. there isn't one player on this team right now that i would pin a "lack of effort" tag on. i even read on CBGB's blog that - "We will not make the playoffs …………… this team has no heart or soul for that matter," and "Okay I will say it. Mr. Softy is back."

this and variances of the same melodramatic spins are becoming a hit around the Kingdom again. i mean for reals, no heart or soul? this team just won the organizations FIRST STANLEY CUP in its history in the most dominating performance since Wayne Gretzky's Oilers... 8 F***ING months ago! my son was born the day before Game 4, is everyone going to be let down because he doesn't have the heart and soul to talk, nor is he putting the effort into walking?

Mr. Softie? Christ Almighty, this is the f***in' guy we all couldn't get enough of and many had even made legit arguments as to why he deserved the damn Vezina Trophy over that other guy - who, if you haven't noticed, ain't doin' too well right now either... and no, i don't like that he got a 10-year deal, but that's because i don't like anyone having a 10-year deal... especially goaltenders.

the Kings are currently THE best puck possession team in the league, and aside from two games, haven't played that bad considering being down two defensemen, a goaltender looking to find his game - in addition to doing so in the wake of having back surgery, and a lack of any real goal scoring talent up front aside from Carter and Gagne, who really only has his creativity left.

everyone needs to just kick back.

The problem isn't that we have Brown, it's that he's on the first line. I don't know how many times it's been mentioned here, but he plays his best hockey when he's playing simple north/south rumble/tumble. Having him up on the first line usually sees him trying to play out of his ability. The answer isn't to trade him away, it's to get somebody that can play up on the top line and allow him to settle into a roll on the 2nd or 3rd line. It would be nice if gagne or penner got the memo.
