can you see it? the defensive change? it's apparent. and i think the only solution is to trade Brown. we can no longer bring the same kind of defense like we used to. were going to need more scoring which means more chemistry on the top line which means brown traded for a legit 1st liner.

Uhhhh, which is it? More offense or more defense? The Kings are missing two essential veteran, shut-down d-men, and it's hurting.

Rightfully so. but can you really say that mitchell and greene can turn things around single handedly?

Replace 2 hard-nosed, veteran, stay-at-home d-men with a couple of offensive minded rookie-esque players, yes, you will see a difference.

So let me see if I got this correct. We are having defense problems so we trade our captain who is a forward. OK...got it.

Mitchell is without question the Kings best defenseman. He is sorely missed right now. Ellerby can cover for Greene's spot, but Martinez has regressed and is making the wrong reads.

The worst is the team defense. The forwards are not playing the system Murray taught. On offense, most of the forwards Brown, Carter, Richards, King, Stoll, Lewis, Frazer have just been lazy or ineffective.

There are too many problems that need to be fixed to single out a single problem. It is too soon to blow it all up, all that can be done is too try and let a few issues work themselves out and then identify the remaining 1 or 2 issues and fix them then.

It is my opinion though that with so many problems 20% thru the season already, the coaching staff has to shoulder some blame for not having the team ready to play.

So you want to flip our captain who you don't think is a first line player for a first liner? Who else would you like to throw in that deal to make that happen? B/c it sure as **** ain't happening straight up.
