Default My car was backed into at LAZ parking (11th/Olive)

This was my first time parking there and will most definitely be the last. I double parked behind a SUV while facing Olive St, about 5-6 cars from the exit. When I returned after the game, I noticed that my vehicle had been moved. My car was now parked facing the wall with a SUV double parked behind me. I didn't think much of it and asked for my keys and the SUV to be moved. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed a fist-sized dent on my hood. I wasn't really sure what to do so I filed a claim with my insurance and then filed a police report. I seriously doubt anything will come of it, but I just wanted to share what had happened to me so that others can look out for these types of things in the future. Has anyone else had any experiences like this? Is there anything else that I can do or am I just **** outta luck here?

Never park in a place where you have to leave your keys. Just think if the 2 dudes in the Ferris Bueller movie...joy riding in the red car.

Cars are a pain in the ass.
When are they coming out with models that are scratch and dent resistant? ****ing cars and their delicate metal and paint jobs.

If it was me I would contact the owner of the lot or seek legal action.I still think if someone drives your car and moves it they need to have responsibility in it.I don't know the law though. You still have to pay a deductible and your insurence could go up.

I'm sure the fine print on the ticket you get at any lot says they are not responsible for damages blah blah.

How well that would stand up in court would remain to be seen.

I would only valet at one of the hotels. Those parking lots try to jam as many cars in as possible ad play by their own rules. One of the worst ones has got to be the one on Pico and Fig.

Unfortunately, he discovered the dent after he got home. If he had any chance to get the parking lot to pay up, he would have had to file a claim at the lot before even touching the car. On top of that, as Dana mentioned, any waiver of liability would make his claim tougher as well.

Yea, as the police officer told me, "the chances are slim to none." I'm still a little bummed that it happened but I've learned my lesson. Oh well, at least I got my replica banner right?

I agree but I would think if one of the drivers did the damage it might be a different story. He is smart to get a police report
