My Letter to the Team LA store
Packed up the family and headed to Staples on Saturday. Was greeted to a locked door (even though they said they were open online). Fired off a letter to Team LA. Won't get a response, but it made me feel better.
I'm sure this message will go unanswered, but here it goes.
My family hopped in the car today to visit the TeamLA store at Staples Center. I was looking into getting a hat and my 3 year old has been desperately wanting a miniature Stanley cup or hockey puck to commemorate the Kings winning the cup. Today was going to be the day his wish was granted. I made sure to check the Facebook page before making the hour journey in traffic. Here is what I saw:
Heads up #TEAMLA fans! Our store at Staples Center will be closed until August 8th at 9 AM due to our annual inventory. Thank you in advance for understanding. You can still shop online here: TEAM LA STORE
Great! Today being the 9th of August, we were good to go! Seeing there was a basketball event going on around Staples, we found some parking kind of off the beaten path. $10 to park. My son was so excited to see where the Kings played. We make the long walk to the store and are greeted with a locked door and a sign saying you re-open on the 10th of August.
Now I wish I could describe the look on my son's face when we told him the store was closed. If you're reading this and you're a parent, I'm sure you can probably picture this for yourself. A tantrum ensued. I tantrum of epic proportions. Not to mention, I left feeling like a crappy dad.
I wanted to personally thank you for absolutely running my child's day. Imagine going to the Disneyland website and they displayed their hours. You gear up, get there and the place is closed. In no way am I comparing a TeamLA store to Disneyland, but you get the picture. Whoever runs this page should be ashamed for openly displaying false information and not correcting it.
You've lost three great customers and my message will be spreading. We've spent thousands of dollars in your store over the past years. So disappointed.
In retrospect, TeamLA can bite me! Thanks for letting me vent.
EDIT: I received a written response and phone call from TeamLA today. Very apologetic for posting wrong hours online. Manager on the phone was extremely nice and gave me her number in case there were ever any issues. I also apologized for sounding immature due to my frustration with the ordeal. All is well and my business will resume. Power of the pen, people.

I think you need to take a deep breath.
It's just a store that sells team merch.
You act as if you made a cross country trip to Walley World and found out they were closed.

Team LA is one of the worst run stores so it doesn't surprise me. As for their online business...even worse than the store. It takes forever to ship items and no email updates or communication. Horrible.

Yup. Sure do.

It's just a store. It will re-open again.
It's not like the team announced that they were retiring Blake's jersey or anything.
Now that would be something to melt down over.
....oh wait......never mind.

You should just be thankful that you have a son to disappoint. My sons daughter was killed in a car accident last month.

I don't really like shopping at team LA anymore. There have been a couple times where I have bought things online and waited months only to not have my item get shipped. Never heard anything. Never got an email. Ended up calling every time. One year the hat I bought never showed up. I had to call and cancel that order after a couple months. The hat was part of a bigger order and everything else came, but the hat. Good news was because I canceled, I found the hat on another site for $10 cheaper. The next time I bought an item and used a coupon code that worked on it. They called me and said I had to pay more because I wasn't allowed to use the code even though I already paid and was accepted at that price. That phone call lasted forever. I had an LA galaxy jersey not get shipped. After 2-3 months of waiting, I called and ended up canceling that order because they told me they ran out of jerseys originally and it would take another couple months.
Terrible customer service all around and their prices are a lot higher than others.
