My daughter is 2 and said it was bad.
People are coming to the games in spite of the lousy marketing, rather than because of it. If the Kings' performance tapers way off, the bandwaggoners will crawl back under their respective rocks. The long term fans will still be subjected this horse****. They deserve better.
The "bandwagon" fans, or post 2012 fans, or whatever... that represents NEW business. One day they'll graduate to long term, nose-in-the-air fans, and hate the marketing, but will show up in spite of.
Don't get me wrong, I don't care for the song. But it will accomplish what the LA Kings management intended it to accomplish. Complaining, internet petitions, letters to the management, and 100+ posts on the official message board just furthers my point. It isn't bad marketing - we're talking about it. It's buzz.
The day people stop showing up and spending money? Then they'll change something.
I hate all of the f***ing gimmicks. I go for the GAME. Not David Joseph. Not for Jay Flats and Carlyn (or whatever her name is). Not because of the lame, over-sized feels-like-cardboard t-shirts they don't give out to my friend's section. I don't need any of that s***. I don't go for the 'experience'. I go for a hockey game. Period.
I miss the Forum :(
Bring back Randy Newman !!!!
