"Only a numbskull thinks he knows things about things he knows nothing about."
"It's understanding that makes it possible for people like us to tolerate a person like yourself."
Hell, sit him in the press box for one game and tell him to especially pay attention to what Nolan, Clifford, and King do. With some flow charts and a Kings Stanley Cup Champions popup book!
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

I think (and this is really to make it fun) that we can add Richards to this dicussion as well. He has looked as bad as anyone including Brown, everything is off with his game right now. And yea, I was wearing my Richards jersey tonight.
As an aside, I thought Doughty was really bad tonight. Overall the team looked pretty good, but Brown, Richards, and Doughty all had rough games IMHO.
More brutal than Mike Richards, that is unlikely.
North/south = YES
East/west = NO
Brown also has no business in the shootout.
His hands seem like cement, and he's falling all over the place, but he's putting out as much effort as he has.
Brown is still floating around the edges too much, and quitting on plays after he loses the puck.
The only thing that has shocked me to this point is that he hasn't gone to his bread and butter between the legs dipsy doodle. Hell, I'd even take that because usually when he loses the handle on the puck, it winds up in the corner.

Nolan has been a wrecking ball out there this season, I absolutely love how much this kid has stepped up! him and Clifford are playing with so much heart and grit that one would think other players would take notice and step up their game. Clearly Sutter has taken notice of Clifford's efforts, that kid is an animal out there! Now if Nolan can start to bury those rebounds we will have a very dangerous weapon in our line up, because he walks the walk and doesn't bother talking the talk, he gets his job done. I wouldn't be surprised if he leads the Kings with fighting majors this season.
As I said in the GDT earlier, I think it's time for DL to start those trade rumors again!
Threaten to trade him to Winnipeg for a forth rounder, and then we will sign Randy Jones convert him to a left winger, put him on the first line and make him captain. Pretty sure that threat worked last year. Lombardi should use it again.
