    As for not getting any respect, who cares? We'll just steamroll the NHL for a couple of more years before everyone gives us anything.

    The Canadian Press will pick the Canucks and upstart Oilers, the Eastern folks will say its gonna be the Pens, Flyers, and Rangers, and the Midwest folks will pick the Hawks and Redwings. Anyone on the West Coast who doesn't have a clue will pick this to be the year that the Sharks do it.

    at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

    My neighbor's Grandma says we are no better than 8th in the West. Of course she is blind, so not sure her vote counts. My neighbor is in his 70's so his Grandma must be pretty old. Whether that raises or lowers your opinion of her opinion is totally up to you.

    The good thing is we were no better than 8th in the West last season.

    No, but her chauffeur was when he called to tell me what she said about our Kings. Not sure it matters, but he is also a midget. That is not politically incorrect to say either. He said the term Little Person offends him. I think he was on his way to see The Hobbit after eating his Taco Bell.
