Got mine in Virginny today. Its awesome!
Which one of you dumbasses was Screaming at Bob at the end of the game? Next year, show some G-damn class and STFU!
Oh yeah.. Barry, you're still a tool.

Just opened my dvd and took a peek at it. Downloaded a SD copy of game 6 to compare it to and yeah, the dvd looks "bad". and by "bad" i mean not HD. Looks like my weekend project is syncing the Bob & Jim\Nick & Daryl call with my 720p copy of game. I'll let you all know how it goes.
Also, is it just me, or do Bob and Jim seem much friendlier with each other than Nick & Daryl?
Lastly, Nicks final call is so much better that Bobs. That is all
I would be interested in a resync'd audio to 720p copy of the game.
I just now got around to watching part of the game as opposed to just the special features. The problem isn't so much the resolution, it's the fact that the game footage looks like it was encoded at 30 frames per second or maybe even 24, as you would a movie. So it's not smooth. We're typically watching sports at 60 frames per second on TV broadcasts. I haven't looked at how much space is used on the disc, so maybe it was a space issue to get it all on one DVD. Regardless, it's not a big deal for me. I'll watch it more as background noise just so I can hear the game being called by Bob and Jim and really pay attention when the good stuff happens.
I'm working on it, but its going to be a pain in the ass. However, I will soldier on.
It is a dual layer DVD. The game (just under 2 hours) takes up about 5.7 gigs and there are 2 audio streams (168 megs apiece)
The video file is 720x480 (duh), but it is 59.940058 fps. The audio is 192 kb/s
I don't think that's an acceptable frame rate on a DVD. 29.97 interlaced frames (59.94 fields) is more likely.
Also, NBC broadcasts 1080i/59.94(29.97). I wonder how this conversion was made. I think the optimal way to go from the broadcast to the DVD would be to do the conversion matching field by field if possible.
As a side note, I'm pretty sure the Stanley Cup blu-ray the league released in July has a similar conversion problem. One of the special features is the 5 minute PP in Game 6. I'll have to watch it again but I'm pretty sure it's running at 23.976 fps. It's different from what I have on my DVR.
All this frame rate talk is super nerdy, but I'm into it.
